As you’ve probably already heard, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has been diagnosed with brain cancer.
On Friday McCain had a brain tumor, known as a glioblastoma, and a blood clot removed during surgery. The brain cancer had been omitted from a previous statement, which only informed us he’d had a blood clot removed.
Now the veteran Senator has broken his silence and Tweeted a response to the many public messages of support:
I greatly appreciate the outpouring of support – unfortunately for my sparring partners in Congress, I'll be back soon, so stand-by!

The clinic where McCain is being treated has released a statement, saying:
The senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. The senator’s doctors say he is recovering from his surgery ‘amazingly well’ and his underlying health is excellent.
Recently former President Obama offered his condolences and support:
John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I've ever known. Cancer doesn't know what it's up against. Give it hell, John.

Cancer is a horrible illness that affects millions. Regardless of party affiliation we should all wish Senator McCain a speedy recovery!
