Sean Spicer Just Gave The WORST Excuse For Trump Jr.’s Russia Meeting

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer today defended Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer, claiming – erroneously – that “there was nothing as far as we know that would lead anyone to believe that there was anything except for a discussion about adoption and the Magnitsky Act.” This statement, of course, comes in direct contrast to both the contents of an e-mail released by Donald Trump Jr. and Trump’s own statement.

Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., himself tweeted out the contents of his e-mail with one of this father’s former Russian business partners who had been contacted by a senior Russian government official promising “incriminating” information on Hillary Clinton.

“This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump,” the e-mail read.

While Spicer maintains his precarious claim that nothing “would lead anyone to believe that there was anything except for a discussion about adoption,” that is, of course, except for the very contents of the e-mail declaring the exact reason for the meeting.

Trump, in an early-morning tweet, also tacitly acknowledged the real reason for his son’s meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya, failing to mention any tenuous excuse like the Magnitsky Act.

While this is not the first time that Spicer’s comments have directly contradicted the President’s own words, it is perhaps the most damning example of Trump’s own self-incrimination. By coming to his son’s defense of what is effectively an admission of collusion between the Trump campaign and an adversarial foreign power, Trump is doing himself no favors. Even Spicer’s transparent attempts to influence messaging are too little too late.

Add your name to millions demanding that Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH DONALD TRUMP!
